SILENCE YOUR SANBALLAT AND TOBIAH THROUGH PRAYER

“When Sanballat heard that we Jews had begun rebuilding the wall, he became furious and began to ridicule us. In front of his companions and the Samaritan troops he said, “What do these miserable Jews think they’re doing? Do they intend to rebuild the city? Do they think that by offering sacrifices they can finish the work in one day? Can they make building stones out of heaps of burnt rubble? Tobiah was standing there beside him, and he added, What kind of wall could they ever build? Even a fox could knock it down!” – Nehemiah 4:1‭-‬3

A person’s words can be life-giving water; words of true wisdom are as refreshing as a bubbling brook. If our words contain beauty and encouragement people treasure them.
Damaging words hurt and it’s wound can forever to heal. Ephesians 4:29: “Don’t say anything that would hurt ⌊another person⌋. Instead, speak only what is good so that you can give help wherever it is needed. That way, what you say will help those who hear you.” Words satisfy the soul as food satisfies the stomach; the right words on a person’s lips bring satisfaction.

Sanballat and Tobiah, instead of being happy for the rebuilding of the wall, they had a plan to deliberately ridicule and taunts the people. “It is foolish to belittle a neighbor; a person with good sense remains silent.” (Proverbs 11:12) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. One’s own soul can be nourished when they are kind with their words, but they can destroy themselves when they are cruel. It is better to ask God to set a guard, over your mouth; keep watch over the door of your lips! Than to sin with your mouth.

There are Sanballats and Tobiahs, everywhere who are ready to discourage, confuse and to stop people’s progress. Ask God for the spirit of discernment to know them before they talk you out of your assignment. The LORD’s plans stand firm forever; His intentions can never be shaken concerning you.

Like Nehemiah, don’t entertain no Sanballat or Tobiah in your life. Nehemiah, knowing their diabolical intention came boldly before God and prayed: “Our God, hear us. We are despised. Turn their insults back on them, and let them be robbed in the land where they are prisoners. Don’t ignore their guilt, and don’t let their sins disappear from Your records. They have insulted You in front of these builders.” God hears when we pray, silence all the Sanballats and the Tobiahs. You are more than a winner! By God’s grace you will accomplish every assignment for God’s glory in Jesus name, Amen
