“My soul, wait only upon God and silently submit to Him; for my hope and expectation are from Him. He only is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be moved. With God rests my salvation and my glory; He is my Rock of unyielding strength and impenetrable hardness, and my refuge is in God! Trust in, lean on, rely on, and have confidence in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is a refuge for us (a fortress and a high tower). My soul, rejoice and praise the Lord. Rejoice and praise the Lord. God is faithful (reliable, trustworthy, and therefore ever true to His promise, and He can be depended on); by Him you were called into companionship and participation with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence.
God has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable us to share His divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. We must make every effort to respond to God’s promises. Supplement our faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, and moral excellence with knowledge,and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with patient endurance, and patient endurance with godliness, come close to God and He will come close to you.
Focus on Jesus, the source and goal of our faith. He saw the joy ahead of Him, so He endured death on the cross and ignored the disgrace it brought Him. Now He holds the honored position—the one next to God the Father on the heavenly throne. Ignore, the distraction. Do not lean to the right or to the left. Hold on to God’s word. It will never fail. The Lord your God is in the midst of you, a Mighty One, a Savior [Who saves]!
God will turn your mourning into dancing for; He will put off your sackcloth and gird you with gladness. Worship the Lord your God with a joyful and happy heart for all He continues to do for you.
Seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. May God work His will in you. Let the word [spoken by] Christ (the Messiah) have its home [in your hearts and minds] and dwell in you in [all its] richness, as you teach and admonish and train one another in all insight and intelligence and wisdom [in spiritual things, and as you sing] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to God with [His] grace in your hearts.
As you meditate on it day and night, and observed to do according to all that is written in it. Your way shall be prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success. Glory to God!
