OUR CLOTHING DID NOT WEAR OUT ON US

“And you shall remember [always] all the ways which the Lord your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, so that He might humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart (mind), whether you would keep His commandments or not. He humbled you and allowed you to be hungry and fed you with manna, [a substance] which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, so that He might make you understand [by personal experience] that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord. Your clothing did not wear out on you, nor did your feet swell these forty years.” – Deuteronomy 8:2‭-‬4

It is because of the Lord’s lovingkindnesses that we are not consumed, Because His [tender] compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great and beyond measure is His faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion and my inheritance,” says my soul; “Therefore I have hope in Him and wait expectantly for Him.” The Lord is good to those who wait [confidently] for Him, To those who seek Him [on the authority of God’s word]. Let the [spoken] word of Christ have its home within you [dwelling in your heart and mind—permeating every aspect of your being] as you teach [spiritual things] and admonish and train one another with all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

Hallelujah! Give thanks to the Lord because He is good, because His mercy endures forever. Who can speak about all the mighty things the Lord has done? Who can announce all the things for which He is worthy of praise? God has increased our greatness (honor) and turned to strengthen us. For God’s faithfulness, give thanks to Him as you make music with a timbrel to praise Him, O Holy One of Israel. Our lips will sing with joy when we make music to praise God. Our souls, which He has rescued, also will sing joyfully. Our tongue will tell about His righteousness all day long, because those who wanted our downfall have been disgraced and put to shame.

Blessed be the Lord, who bears our burden day by day, The God who is our salvation! Selah. God is to us a God of acts of salvation; And to God the Lord belong escapes from death [setting us free]. “Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by failing to keep His commandments and His judgments (precepts) and His statutes which I am commanding you today; otherwise, when you have eaten and are satisfied, and have built good houses and lived in them, and when your herds and flocks multiply, and your silver and gold multiply, and all that you have increases, then your heart will become lifted up [by self-conceit and arrogance] and you will forget the Lord your God who has redeemed you from hand of the oppressor.

What will we give to the Lord [in return] For all His benefits toward us? [How can we repay Him for His precious blessings?] The Lord has been very good to us – Delight yourself in His decrees and not forget His word. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and with all your soul and with all your strength [your entire being]. For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward Him. Not to us, O Lord, not to us, But to Your name give glory Because of Your lovingkindness, because of Your truth and faithfulness. Glory!
