ENDURE EVERYTHING WITH PATIENCE

“May you be made strong with all the strength which comes from His glorious power, so that you may be able to endure everything with patience. And with joy give thanks to the Father, who has made you fit to have your share of what God has reserved for His people in the kingdom of light. He rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us safe into the kingdom of His dear Son, by whom we are set free, that is, our sins are forgiven.” –

Colossians 1:11‭-‬14

We are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting Him, He endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now He is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Think of all the hostility He endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.

“No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.” My friends, you already know this. Be on your guard, then, so that you will not be led away by the errors of lawless people and fall from your safe position. But continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, now and for ever! Amen.

Many will give up their faith at that time; they will betray one another and hate one another. Then many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Such will be the spread of evil that many people’s love will grow cold. But whoever holds out to the end will be saved. And this Good News about the Kingdom will be preached through all the world for a witness to all nations; and then the end will come. (Matthew 24:10‭-‬14)

Delightfully child of God, constantly and progressively build yourself up on the foundation of your most holy faith by praying every moment in the Spirit. We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. Lord, make my faith grow in a heart that’s free from resentments, rooted in Your love. May my trust in You surpass all human reasoning. In Jesus name, Amen
