UNDERSTAND WHO YOU ARE

“But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do His work and speak out for Him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference He made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.” – 1 Peter 2:9‭-‬10

Friends, this world is not our home, so don’t make yourself cozy in it. Don’t indulge your ego at the expense of your soul. Live an exemplary life among the natives so that your actions will refute their prejudices. Then they’ll be won over to God’s side and be there to join in the celebration when He arrives. Make the Master proud of you by being good citizens. Respect the authorities, whatever their level; they are God’s emissaries for keeping order. It is God’s will that by doing good, you might cure the ignorance of the fools who think you’re a danger to society. Exercise your freedom by serving God, not by breaking the rules. Treat everyone you meet with dignity. Love your spiritual family. Revere God. Respect the government.

We are the redeemed of the LORD. We have been justified by the blood of Jesus, saved from God’s wrath through Him. Sing praises to the LORD, who sits enthroned in Zion! Tell among the peoples His deeds! Him we must proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ. The Father, calls us His children, and that is what we are. Dear children, remain in fellowship with Christ so that when He returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from Him in shame. Christ is righteous, we just be righteous.

You are salt for the earth. But if salt loses its taste, how will it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled on by people. 

You are light for the world. A city cannot be hidden when it is located on a hill. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket. Instead, everyone who lights a lamp puts it on a lamp stand. Then its light shines on everyone in the house. In the same way let your light shine in front of people. Then they will see the good that you do and praise your Father in heaven.
