“Once more Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not be walking in the dark, but will have the Light which is Life.” –
John 8:12
The Light of the world is Jesus! He has come as a Light into the world, so that whoever believes in Him [whoever cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Him] may not continue to live in darkness. In Jesus is Life, and the Life is the Light of men. And the Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it [put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it, and is unreceptive to it].
“Come to the light, ’tis shining for thee;
Sweetly the light has dawned upon me;
Once I was blind, but now I can see:
The Light of the world is Jesus!”
The Father has delivered and drawn us to Himself out of the control and the dominion of darkness and has transferred us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,
The Lord is our Light and our Salvation–whom shall we fear or dread? The Lord is the Refuge and Stronghold of your life–of whom shall you be afraid?
“No darkness have we who in Jesus abide;
The Light of the world is Jesus!
We walk in the light when we follow our Guide!
The Light of the world is Jesus!”
I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My life makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble and afflicted hear and be glad. O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. The sun shall be no more our light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give us light; but the Lord will be our everlasting light, and our God will be our glory. Your sun shall no more go down, nor your moon withdraw itself; for the Lord will be our everlasting light, and our days of mourning shall be ended.
God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. While you have the LIGHT, believe in the LIGHT, that you may become sons of LIGHT. We are LIGHT in the Lord. Walk as children of LIGHT. In Jesus’s name, Amen
